Joe,

I figured out a technique that is much easier, and I think would be pretty 
safe.

In your workspace, delete the folder named .config underneath .metadata. 
Then just copy the same folder from your good workspace.

If you look at the content of the files, I do not think there is anything 
that could bite you.  I did it as a test and it workked fine.
