1.- The RPG parsers redefine the "insertToTab" action. You could enter

set actionClass.insertToTab

from the LPEX command line in order to restore the action to its default (LPEX) implementation - but for that view only! As the command-line commands are kept around, so you later arrow up/down to retrieve this incantation for other views.

2.- In the "lpex" base profile, you can select line(s) with Alt+L and then shift them left/right with F7/F8. In "seu", F7 and F8 have other definitions, though - but you can still use the pop-up menu (Selected -> Shift selection ..)

Kim,

Now I understand. Yes, I have wished for that too but haven't found a way to make it happen yet.

In regards to Samuels' post, I frequently use the 'R' and 'L' commands from PDM in the jLPEX editor to shift lines of code right or left. 'RR' and 'LL' will move blocks of code. Follow the first command with the number of spaces to shift. Not necessarily the most efficient but it gets the job done.

Maybe someone knows a better way.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Re: Problems Inserting spaces from current
cursorposition to next Tab

Rick,

The issue is that I want to be able to tab to a specific spot on the
line and have whatever was already typed on the line move over as well,
essentially indenting the entire line. I use this a lot in Code as I
might be adjusting code, adding If statements etc, and with free form
its easier to adjust (indent) to make the code easier to read. Right
now, in RSE, its a pain because the tab isn't working, so I either have
to use space bar to move everything over to where I want, or I just type
the new line altogether which doesn't make sense if I didn't have to do
that in CODE. When I change the setting in the Preferences for the LPEX
Editor to say "disable parsing" I lose all my colour coding in my source
but then the tab does work.

Hopefully this helps to explain further.. I'm new to RSE so perhaps
there is a way to do my editing/formatting without using tabs?

Kim
