Expand your connection. Right-click on the iSeries Objects "subsystem" and choose Verify Connection. This will tell you if a host server is not running or if you are missing any required host PTF's. Although, I believe it might be reporting the latter incorrectly since the PTF numbers changed at the last minute. File system input or output error. Message reported from file system: Unable to establish a connection. However, there is no problem opening the member within Code/400. I found an old post of Mark Phippard's in which he recalled that they had the same error message due to inadequate authority on the QPWFSERVER authorization list, so I checked it and found that QPGMR (of which my profile is a member) has *CHANGE authority to this list object. Changing the authority to *ALL did not make any difference. Does anyone know what other conditions might generate this error?
