Yes, the R0... CODE server name points to your iSeries and the file you are
editing will reside on your iSeries not the local file system. So when you
save the file it will be saved on the iSeries.

The reason for this slightly cryptic name: the CODE communications only
allows one connection per TCP/IP hostname and restricts the CODE Server
name to 8 characters. The RSE communications allows multiple connections
to the same hostname (allowing you to setup different libl, current
library, etc... for each) and very long connection names. When you launch
the CODE Editor from the RSE a unique CODE server name is generated for the
RSE connection. This CODE server name is composed of R0 followed by the
last 6 characters of the RSE connection name.

Vern you are correct, the R does come from RSE, the number is used to avoid
naming collisions. If you have lots of connections with similar connection
names then you may start to see R1..., R2...)

Don

I've seen the "R0..." too. It's an entry in the HOSTS file, put in there by
RSE, I think, Pointing to the IP address you set up. Maybe 'R' stands for
'Remote' <bg>
