Well I suppose you might as well pass one stream file on to another stream
file then for processing?

Or is that duplication of effort?

Well, if you're going to pass it in a "file" I wouldn't think to use a
structured DB file, but rather a stream file in the IFS. XML "fits"
better into stream files than DB tables.
