As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

You've simplified my life. I know there's other ways to secure pages
nowadays, but I've always loved the session variables.

Then set a session variable and make sure each page checks the web
session before displaying.
Why not just check in Global.asax on the start of each request? Then you
don't have to remember to do it on every page.
