I'm trying to integrate this with our existing intranet (CGIDEV2
programs) so our users have one place to go for gui stuff. This project
was supposed to be just a toes in the water so see if we wanted to go in
this direction. It was fast to develop and tested fine on my pc. It got
very complicated when I tried to put it on a IIS server so the
appropriate users could get to it. I'm trying to figure this out in
between doing my regular work. Unfortunately, it's turning out to be a
dead end for us, due to the total lack of any in house expertise.

Are you aware of clickOnce deployment with .NET? It just seems that an
ASP.NET intranet app is overkill.
Anyway. I would recommend first coding the app with Widnows Forms and
then porting the code over. This way you're tackling your db and asp
bugs separately.

Yes, it does need to be a web app. It's going on our intranet, not
installed on the users pcs.

Does the app have to be a web app? Can't it be a Windows Forms app ,
which is much simpler...
