We wrote our own utility that runs in either report or report & update 
mode.  We enter a cut off date and the program looks for open P.O.s with 
delivery dates earlier than our cut off dates.  By running it in report 
mode our buyers get the chance to update the delivery dates on orders that 
still need to be open & then run with update to close the other P.O.s.

Bill,

We are on SP5 of the style version and there is a option called Order
Completion (9/STPMP).  If you are on standard product, I do not think that
this option exists and the only way is to reduce the outstanding qty on 
the
line down to zero.  Which is not good for anyone to actually wanting to do
detailed analysis on supplier performance.

I have a user who sent the following email.  I'd like some additional
input from the group before I send a reply.

Is there a way for purchasing to CLOSE a purchase order with receipts
against it and a balance due?  In the past, I've completed the line,
bringing the balance to zero without the
additional receipt to the line and accounting has done something to
actually close the purchase order. (3 way match).
