Unless the name is "1000997".... The double quote is important... Means it
was created more than likely via SQL.

How did this object get created? The iSeries insists on file names begin
with an alpha character.

Does anyone know of a way to delete an object from a library that has been
created with the name being all numbers (1000997)?

I have tried to delete, rename, etc. but I get the following error
message "Value '1000997   ' for File not a name or generic name".
