Ram's answer is very comprehensive, but the simple answer is that the
batch job will run when you exit from the interactive program (if both
are defined for a task). The manual says that the interactive program
has to set the LDA field L#RTCD to " Y" but I'm not sure whether that is
enforced. Usually some additional data is placed in the LDA for the
batch program.

I'm not sure about pressing F4 on a green screen at runtime - I've never
seen that work, and it sounds a bit dangerous if users can change the
job queue (QINTER anyone?). However, you can override the print queue
and job queue for a user/company/task (in the AM User Profile - User
Overrides) though I'm not sure whether this works if the program calls
XA902 directly rather than having a batch program defined in the task.
