Guy, Serial number control is quite demanding. Once an item is serial controlled, you must enter it at purchase receipt, manufacturing receipt, misc stock adjustment, material issue, shipment, customer return receipt, stock transfer, etc. Perhaps a simulation in a test environment will help you decide if you want to use it. From what I have gathered in Infobase, you need to modify the company profile, and at item level use Lot Control type 'S'. You also need to input a 'Serial Number' for each transaction involving a lot controlled item. On a more practical aspect, I would like to have any tips from those who have already implemented Serial Numbers. We need to know whether it is more of a burden for users rather than help them.
