Hello Jim, We have been using Job Management for several years now and like the increased functionality and control that was achieved over the previous way of controlling our projects, their costs and associated billing. We track P/O's, S/Os, W/O's, PL Invoices, Labour Costs, JM invoices to SL, The reporting from the module is like most vanilla applications so I wrote my own to suit in house requirements. The set up is straight forward for various tables. If you use warehousing we encountered some problems with the quantities after confirmation of despatch. We also had some problems that sales orders would still produce an invoice and still post the cost to the job and had GEAC rectify that problem. If you use the sales analysis module the despatch of goods will no longer be recorded as a sale. The posting to the ledger via AFI and the rules within the module work well. Enquiries can be a bit cumbersome depending on the information required. If you would like to ask more specific questions I would be happy to field these off-forum Regards, Neville Kingdom Information Technologies Manager Metro Products & Co Pty Ltd 61 2 8723 8846 0411 535 240 http://www.metroproducts.com n.kingdom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx jim.hawkins@xxxxxxxx Sent by: jbausers-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 20/03/2003 02:56 AM Please respond to GEAC/JBA System 21 Users To: jbausers-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc: Subject: [SYS21] Job Management While we have had Job Management module for some time, we have never implemented it. We are seeing increasing benefit to implementing this module. We would like to hear from those that have looked at and/or use this module. What have you liked/disliked? What do you wish you had known before implementing? Setup issues? How well do you like this module? Other comments/feedback. Thanks for you input. We are hoping to be able to track project costs within System21, in addition to creating invoices and PO's for the project. We understand that WO's are created within this module as well.
