Test Company would be a useful place to start!

The really good news is I always insisted expense items be maintained in
separate stock rooms. Now, I just have to work through the consequences of
throwing that switch.

Yeah, we had a similar situation with our MRO at one plant...
They expensed all of that stuff and did not want the valuation of every
stock
movement hitting the G/L... So that was the answer we used...
I'm confident that will solve this particular problem...

Jeff,

That sounds like it may be exactly what I'm looking for. Once I get clear
of the monthly curse (month-end closing and reporting), I'll check into it.

Thanks,

Tim,

If you want to track inventory levels for restocking but don't care about
valuation you can store your supplies in a non-valued stockroom...

>From Company Profile Maintenance 1/INU you will find...

IN010 Your company name User

Maintain Company Profile

Stockroom................... FG FINISHED GOODS
Include in valuation........ 1 (0=No,1=Yes)
<-------------------
This flag should be '0' for a non-valued stockroom...
Stockroom usage code.....?..
Department...............?..
Stockroom site...........?..

This might be the elegant solution you were hoping for...

Let me know...

hth...
