We use 1/ARM to enter the Customer Masters into SLP05 and then 2/OEM to get the Destination records into SLP05 and OEP20... We disabled the 2/ARM option to avoid confusion... I believe that 2/ARM would only be used if you had the A/R module but did not have the OE module... I further believe that 1/ARM is required in either case to create the Customer Master record in SLP05. This was always a point of confusion for all the new installs when I was at JBA... We only use the OE module to feed our Future 3 requirements as Sales Order demand to our MPS/MRP process. We don't use JBA to create our shippers. We're at V3.5.1. Hth. I usually remove 1/ARM from the menu to guarantee that it is not used. You should be using OEM to create/maintain customer data when you use OE. It does update the customer scan indexes. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Gary.Brown@appliedchemicals.com> To: <JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 08, 2002 9:09 PM Subject: [SYS21] Customer Scan > > > Standard system v3.5.2sp4 > > DID YOU KNOW.......because I didn't until today...... > > That when you add a new customer in accounts > receivable (1/ARM) that it DOES NOT populate > the OE customer search indexes (OEP30 and OEP35), > so this means that in OE screens if you search by > multiple criteria for the new customer just entered > (i.e. Customer Name plus one of the other search > arguments you setup in the company profile) that > the search fails. > > This basically means that you have to schedule > Recreate customer search index (21/OEU) every night > (so that the index for new customers added during > the day will be built)..........as if our machine > wasn't already busy enough overnight!! > > Regards, > Gary. > > > _______________________________________________ > This is the GEAC/JBA System 21 Users (JBAUSERS-L) mailing list > To post a message email: JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/jbausers-l > or email: JBAUSERS-L-request@midrange.com > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/jbausers-l. > > _______________________________________________ This is the GEAC/JBA System 21 Users (JBAUSERS-L) mailing list To post a message email: JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/jbausers-l or email: JBAUSERS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/jbausers-l.
