We use Brio Technology's reporting toolkit (http://www.brio.com), which
comes with a portal. Your reports (as well as graphs and other goodies) are
accessible through your intranet via a standard browser. Very neat !.

Todd,

If all you are after is a GUI tool that can hide the S21 files from
non-technical users and present the files/fields in plain english, then you
could do a lot worse than take a look at Cognos Impromptu. We've been
using
it for a number of years.

Other vendors of similar (BI) software for comparison are Business Objects,
Crystal Reports and Microstrategy.

If you want more info, I'll be happy to discuss offline.

We are continually bombarded with requests from users to do more "What If"
type reporting. The immediate stock answer is to answer their requests
with
a query. However, the users hate queries and want to be able to do
something
on their own. The users understand there are tons of files and data
available, but they want an easier method of "mining" that data. Has
anyone
found a product that works with Sys/21 that provides a "friendly" method of
data mining for non-technical users?
