Ahhhh, and there's the rub...!!! That's precisely the difference between setting up a "TST" ENVIRONMENT and setting up a completely different WORLD... A separate WORLD contains cloned/renamed versions of EVERY library including the IPG libaraies not just the OSL libraries...!!! This is why when people say you should, "...Pre-apply your PTFs in a 'TST' environment...", I cringe, because any PTF that loads anything into the IPG libraries falls outside the scope of the "TST" ENVIRONMENT and truly impacts your LIVE production environment... These PTFs are difficult, if not impossible, to uninstall...!!! The only really safe way to test PTF's is to create a separate WORLD to test in... (Mind you that after PTF P#MMV30014 you can no longer run Machine Manager in a separate world. Not that you'd really need to...) Best of luck... aappleby@geckojewellery.com on 02/18/2002 03:23:07 AM Please respond to jbausers-l@midrange.com To: jbausers-l@midrange.com cc: (bcc: Jeff Klipa/Harvard) Subject SYS21 - Re: JBA ML - Setting up a new module : Jeff Thanks for the warning! I have noticed this in the past, but so far, so good. I did keep a backup though. Unfortunately, even though we have a completely separate test set of libraries, there is only one Application Manager to control them. I have tried to segregate the new modules as much as possible from the live, so we'll just have to see. Angus
