Hi Guys Thought I might throw my 2 cents worth in. Before I start I must state that I am quite prepared to be corrected on this suggestion and would welcome any further dialogue. We too had this problem last February (2001) and an ex JBA consultant, contracting for another part of our company, corrected it. I THINK (not sure) that he restored the GL balance files from before the rebuild, reset the UPDNOG in FLP007 and FLP008 and called the GLUPDAT program. Obviously UPDNOG was only reset for transactions created since the backup of the restored balances file. Sounds a bit simple and I would welcome comments BR Rick Allen To: "jbausers-l@midrange.com" <jbausers-l@midrange.com> cc: Michael Berman Subject: Re: JBA ML - GL - Rebuild <mxb1@start.com.au> Sent by: jbausers-l-admin@midrange.com 06/02/2002 03:19 PM Please respond to jbausers-l Ram, It may be a Y2K problem. Cant GEAC provide the PTF???? Perhaps get someone to look at the programming side (if you have the source) It seems the only alternative is queries to verify the balances. Retained earnings will need to be done manually. (FLP008 vs FLP004 then FLP004 for the control accounts). Make sure your Memo Profit & loss are correct before you run Year End. If it is only a few accounts, I would let it be and amend (dfu) those that are in error. You never know what the rebuild will do from Adam and Eve. Do you have a test environment/machine where you can trial things out?
