In response to the AFI archive questions:

Why not use the JBA RGZLIBPFM commands instead of writing your own?

Some of the JBA commands, such as DSPDEP and DSPFLD are quite useful, if not
one of the best things about System 21!

Seriously though, there are some files that tend to end up with a lot of
deleted
records, such as OSLSLF3/SLPWA and OSLD1F3/OEPWA,B and F.

Some other files we regularly look at are:
IPGMMF4/AMM95PHY - Schedule job history
OSLGLF3/FLPUK2 - General Ledger VAT details, which *WE* don't use.

Audit files which we regularly clear old records from using SQL.
OSLD1F3/OEP40A - Order header audit
OSLD1F3/OEP45A - Order address override audit
OSLD1F3/OEP55A - Order line audit
OSLD1F3/OEP65A - Invoice header audit
OSLD1F3/OEP70A - Invoice line audit
OSLD1F3/OEP80A - Price list audit

As well as a number of other files around the system. It's woth looking at
QGPL and QUSRSYS from time to time, as, in our case anyway, we end up with
copies of files that were taken when changes were being made, which are then
forgotten about. (We now have a seperate library for file copies).

If you do clear any of these, as with any deletions, it's essential to take
a backup
of the files first.

I've also seen a number of sites that don't tend to use the IBM cleanup and
end up with
a huge amount of system history files and journal receivers.

It's also important to run the System 21 machine manager day end, as this
does a certain amount of cleaning up. You can then delete old System 21 job
history error logs using the application manager menu.
