Hello Dan, Thanks for this prompt response . I do appreciate the level of complexity of the mods you refer to. In our case we have a big time constraint ( a matter of days) and following a meeting with user this morning, we have come to the following modus operandi (which I hope may help other users facing the problem in the future): 1. After receipt of price controlled items (a subset of their 3000 items) , user freezes required qty (JBA Inventory function) Any available stock is still sold at current price , but in terms of weighted av. cost the system has performed correct computation. 2. An alert system which acts as watchdog will constantly check the available stock of such items against a user-maintaianble file of Item & threshold qty. A e-mail is sent to specific users as soon as an item available qty. reaches/ falls below the related threshold . 3. Upon receipt of the mail , user will proceed with 2 actions : 'Unfreeze' required item/qty. AND perform price type maintenance. 4. Please note that this operation processes an average of 4500 customer order lines / day.
