From what I understand this is a rather common practice in the software
industry. Whether it's "fair", or not, is another question.

Wondering how you react to the fact that Geac might impose an 'upgrade
fee' whenever you need to upgrade
your AS/400 (model change). Such a situation often stems from IBM's
decision to stop supporting a given series, but could also result from a
disaster.
As a user , you do not get any improvement/enhancement related to the
application, but you still need to spend cash
on the latter. Or am I questioning the obvious ?
Any views will be appreciated .
