The Great Lakes Users Group just meet and that was a major topic of
discussion. If you have a maintenance contract enforce with Geac it is your
understanding that source code is available but any new contracts that is
not an option. The user group is in the process of issuing a letter of
concern to Harry Debes expressing your feelings about that issue and others
like layoffs, lack of support, etc. If you have a maintenance contract
enforce I'd call your sales rep and get some action ASAP.

Subject: Source code

Here is my question:

I would like to know if there are any JBA customers out there who have
fought GEAC's recent announcement of not providing source code. I would
like to know if you got any resolution from GEAC.

Our company purchased System 21 in June 1998 and since then have
always received source code up until September 2000 when we received an
"emergency fix" for v.352B and only received the object code. That's when
I was informed no more source code.

My company is at a critical point of the options we have open to us.
Please respond with your comments if you are in the same situation we are
in and your intentions.
