Yes, but it is very simple to setup the company and still allow the transactions to be deleted this way. As long as there are no "live" AFI's, you'll be ok. -----Original Message----- From: owner-jbausers-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-jbausers-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Michael Berman Sent: Saturday, October 07, 2000 6:44 AM To: 'JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: INP95 vs INP96 -- What's the difference? Ed, I don't think this is true if the company you are working with isn't set up in 1/FIU. My gut feel is that if the company isn't set up in 1/FIU, AFI will ignore the transactions. Charles, You can run the AFI extract (3/INW) with no journals setup for your live company. Just make sure there are some live journals setup for Z1. Check this by using 1/FIM. This will set all the INP96 records in your live comapny to GLUP96 = 0 and make them eligible for deletion. If you have any questions, let me know. So let me get this straight. Since I do not use AFI and my inp95 and inp96 both have the same number of records (3,000,000+) I should force a 1 or a 0 into GLUP96 in the inp96 file so that the next time my month end runs the records will be available for purging?
