Actually, an INP96 record must pass two criteria to be deleted:

AFI must examine the record (GLUP96 record will be 1 or 0 if AFI has
examined it)
and
The end of month inventory process must be completed

AFI does not use INP95 because of the amount of records in the file. INP95
is more of a history file while INP96 is more of a current transactions
file.

I think that INP96 is wiped every time that AFI uses it to obtain AFI
inventory postings. I don't know why this was thought to be preferable at
the time. Otherwise it is the same as INP95.

As far as I know INP96 is used by AFI to pick up inventory transactions to
post to GL. But don't know why JBA couldn't use INP95 instead.
