You must query just the "21" records as they are actual users. Any other record, such as IN, GL, OE, etc., will be submitted jobs or a sequence of tasks. -----Original Message----- From: Jeff_Klipa/Harvard@harvardind.com [mailto:Jeff_Klipa/Harvard@harvardind.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 11, 2000 12:12 PM To: JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com Subject: RE: User count I don't know why the count grows and falls the way it does, I think there is either a background job that runs periodically or it gets triggered each time a new user connects to the System 21 package... CLNUSRALC or a Verify Allocations...? I usually issue a command line call to XA705CLP which is the Verify Allocations routine... This is a shortcut to: STRIPGAM 7. Utilities 4. Verify Allocations This cleans up the records in APG02PHY that did not get deallocated properly... And another topic to bear in mind is how the user connects to System 21 will make a difference in how many user seats each person actually uses up... Using the "BlueBerry" icons from JBA Explorer will only use one connection (i.e. only 1 license or seat) no matter how many screens they have open at one time... However, using a Server Session or a Green Screen will gobble up a seat for each iteration of the System 21 package... So for example if a user has 3 Server Sessions connected to System 21 they are using 3 seats...!!! The use of Group Jobs should also be avoided as this will also consume a seat for each job running... There used to be a really good explanation of this on the old JBA web page in a service bulletin or something... I don't know if it is still available or not... Good luck... +--- | This is the JBA Software Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message send your mail to JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: doug333@aol.com. +--- +--- | This is the JBA Software Users Mailing List! +---
