Doug, 1) no, the effort involved in changing is too great, will consider dropping support since we could not apply our modifications to their new programs without source. Will consider using some outside source for support. No source is not a deciding factor in changing ERP applications. 2) No, no source no purchase. 3) Functionality first. If the software meets the needs source is not necessary, look at word or excel from Microsoft. However, ERP packages need to be "Tweaked" at each site to meet individual needs. If a potential customer were asking if they should licensee System 21 from Geac without source, I would point out how much they will have to depend on GEAC to get to a "live" environment. If your question was really about a company buying System 21 from Geac, like say Lawson or SAP or PeopleSoft. If they got a good price the support has possibilities of improving so I would be all for the purchase. Charles Greene Miller Curtain Co.
