1 )My boss has indicated that if we are no longer able to get source code. we will not renew our maintenance with JBA! We will hire more programmers and maintain the code ourselves, implementing the mods that we have not done to keep the code easier to maintain w/ upgrades. We would of course eventually change to another ERP package, but that could be years from now. This to me would seem counter productive to GEAC's goal--to make money. 2) I would be against purchasing any software that does not come with source code, (the exception being low cost tools/utility programs with a single focus) a new package or module. To often there is some small (or large) change that users want to accommodate the way we operate our business 3) I would not encourage anyone to purchase a midrange or larger software application that they could not get source code for, either free or at a minimal cost only. This is not a JBA issue, this is the ability to accommodate a large package to the way an individual company works +--- | This is the JBA Software Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message send your mail to JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: doug333@aol.com. +---
