Has anyone experienced a random failure of journal entries as the user attempts to complete the transaction with an "F8"? We are running System 21 version 3.5.0. Our payroll department routinely has to key a journal entry for each payroll run. These entries are always large, the last one containing 708 items. We have experienced random failures of these sessions at the time the user attempts to end the session with an "F8". An error message is written to the job log indicating the G/L session has been suspended due to "an interruption to data entry". The message also indicates the session may be resumed which has never been the case. The program dump points to GL088 and an attempt to update without a prior read or chain to file TRANSALL. We have developed a recovery procedure for these failed sessions that is accomplished by manual intervention in the files. This requires a significant amount of time that could be better spent. Any input would be appreciated.
