Has anyone reviewed or used the 'technical documentation' that is listed as part of the JBA S21 Explorer product? Explorer comes with a viewer, but supposedly there is an Access database you can purchase that lists "where used" cross reference type of info. I don't know whether it documents "status fields", speaking of which can Dan Bale elaborate on a few examples of status fields for which he is looking for info? Internal program fields, or status fields like order line status (STAT55 / OEP55) where 'X' means the line was cancelled? We also asked for, and received, from our local JBA office some internal documentation that explained some file relationships, contents of LDA, etc. It wasn't very good, but has been helpful in some cases. I just looked for it in my office and can't find it and I'm hoping one of my Analysts also has a copy. It was about 200 pages and appeared to be around 4-5 years old. If it turns out nothing is available, I for one would be willing to participate in a group effort to develop such documentation (I've already done done some of this for my company). Yes, this should be available from JBA, but if it is not and your company is committed to JBA for several more years (we are) then developing such documentation could be useful.
