Randy,

Appreciate your comments. Ditto my previous response to Doug... I concur with
everything you said, except your last paragraph.

I had to chuckle at your comment: >>There is no purpose in "fighting" it or
complaining, it just is and probably won't change.<< It sounds like the battle
cry of the Star Trek borgs, "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated."

No, as far as I have been informed, we are on JBA's latest version, 3.51, I
think. Hopefully, that's Y2K compliant. Our shop bought the JBA package late
last year to replace an old package that had been heavily modified and was not
anywhere near y2k compliant. We've had to convert some of our old system's
reports to use the JBA data files. We've also had some EDI conversion issues.

know what you're looking for in the first place.

(as is true with earlier and later versions) has many inconsistencies in the way
"values" are handled. Some hard coded within programs, both logic statements
and tables, some within DDS for the screens (some even attached to indicators),
some within message files, or by passed parameters. Plus some PTF's change
objects, relocating validation logic that isn't tracked by the documentation.

or complaining, it just is and probably won't change. By the way, is there
concern that you are not on a Y2K complaint version?
