We also use AOE and have done some of the above mods.  We do track the
customer's PO line number and we have charges by order line including
the ability for the system to calculate per carton and per lot charges.
We use manual allocation by item and never allocate at order entry even
if stock is available.  We have added a front end to Manual Allocation
that allows selection by ship date and provides easy access to order
data without having to exit the program.
