Adrienne: Welcome to the list. You sure managed to pick a good one for getting questions answered. I didn't see anyone mention 'Tips and Tools for Securing your iSeries', so I thought I'd add it. Direct link for V5R3 is: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/topic/books/sc415300.pdf or http://tinyurl.com/k8dd3 That .PDF comes out of the V5R3 Information Center under the Security topic. You might browse through the topic to get a good overview of security elements and how they can interrelate. Tom Liotta "Adrienne McConnon" <Adrienne.McConnon> wrote:
We are relatively new to the iSeries - migrating from an HP 3000 machine, and I am the Security Officer for a small group of developers and account managers for a service beareau company. I have been dubbed the 'Security Officer' unofficially, in addition to my 'Software Engineer' title, and would like to define this role more officially. Does anybody have suggestions as to what the normal functions and duties of an iSeries security officer are? Any books, articles, publications, etc would be helpful.
