Hi,

you can do this with SQL:

values(dec(float('1.1001E+12'), 15, 0));

As long as all digits are present in the xEy notation string, it shouldn't be a problem.

I cannot control or alter the source of the import files.
two columns have long strings of digits, account numbers, most are
readable, but some like
1.10001E+12 (scientific notation).
Is there a rpgle or db2 sql method to convert these back exactly to the
numbers they exported via .csv file?
User intervention, at this time, is not an option.
I read thru the thread history, in fact i had one a number of years ago,
but in that instance i controlled the source of the data.
Thank you,
Jim Franz
