Hello Karl,

IMHO: Each tool at its time.

Sometime I prefer SEU if it should be F&D, RDi for complex and oversight programming and VSCode sometimes for converting to free (save the source before).
One thing is for sure, SEU is the most integrated tool in the IBM i ecosystem, even if it is no longer developed further. It belongs to the IBM i ever!

Allow me to bring in some more possibilities: Exploiting the "url opening" facilities of vim!

Using vim to edit already existing code is easy, because positional alignment can be easily gleaned from other lines. And if you have a local display you can tilt 90°, you can see many, many lines at once. I really love this "oversight".

(Because my machine of choice is running V4R5, I'm using positional RPG when using RPG. This is an intentional choice making some fellow list members wince in pain. But then, I'm a hobbyist.)

Ok, I'm a dinosaur :-)

I hope you will not anytime soon share their fate!

:wq! PoC
