Re: ILE and locked file -- RPG400-L

Wow Roger, if that’s true then that’s exactly what I needed.
I could not dltf nor delete from due to the lock.
I’m going to try and keep this trick in mind in case I ever deal with this again.

I have found that when I have tried a DELETE * From TABLEA. That TABLEA needs to be exclusively allocated (or at least not in use)

I'd think TRUNCATE TABLE would do a CLRPFM. DELETE FROM seems to be a set operation (which doesn't exclude a set including all records). Check the journal receiver and you'll get your answer.
