Why are you using WRKQRY?

This is simple to do with SQL. Either use ACS Run SQL scripts or if you
happen to have the Query Manager product installed, STRQM then you have a
green screen SQL based replacement for Query/400.

Hi,

I m trying to match records of 3 files s using WRKQRY but the problem is
happening for the data type in second file for example

Field TEST Field
T01.fld1 EQ T02.fld2

TO1.fld2 EQ T03.fld3

So after declaring primary and two other files in this WRKQRY and then
specifying how to join them ( here fld2
and fld3 fields of file2 and file3 respectively just for example ) giving
me error ' Field used to test field T01.fld1 must be numeric' and that
T02.fld2 is getting highlighted in green color and at bottom of this screen
getting this mentioned error.

If the field in file2 ,fld2 is defined as character and field1 in file1 is
defined as Decimal then what could be done to get the matching results from
these fields and files in this WRKQRY?

Also can the same matching records based on above conditions be obtained (
where this error should not come for data types of the fields like here in
WRKQRY Example) using a single SQL query,if yes then how?

Thanks.
