It has been a while but I think if you create a data structure using the
filename (EXTFILE I think was the keyword) and do not make it qualified, you
can clear the data structure and it will clear all of the fields in it and
the file.

I'm trying to remember:
I have a scenario in which I will need to find the last customer number in a
file, increment that customer number, and then write a new record, with
initial values for only a few of the fields.
Is there an easy way, using traditional RPG scatter-gather I/O, to clear out
all the fields of the record?
