I have several spool files that have multiple client reports in each spool
file. For example:
- Spool File 1: Page 1 is client A; Page 2 is client B; Page 3 is client C
- Spool File 2: Page 1 is client A; Page 2 is client C
My goal is to write a program that will collate these printouts by client,
so in the above example I would like to print the following:
- Client A - Spool File 1 Page 1
- Client A - Spool File 2 Page 1
- Client B - Spool File 1 Page 2
- Client C - Spool File 1 Page 3
- Client C - Spool File 2 Page 2
I know that I can use STRPAGGRP and ENDPAGGRP to create page groups by
client in my spool file. I am looking for an API that will allow me to
read the page groups of a given spool file. I saw that QUSRSPLA has a page
group attribute that will denote if there are page groups present
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.1?topic=ssw_ibm_i_71/apis/QUSRSPLA.htm#:~:text=CHAR(1)-,Page%20groups,-2877
Is there an API that will allow me to iterate through the page groups in a
spool file and determine the starting and ending page?
