I think I figured it out... it's a very old program for a client that I
didn't write. :) Spaghetti that I'm going to untangle. haha.

Let's say the parameter list contains a string called firstName and we
pass
in a value of Brad.

Now, Program B modifies that parameter value to Bradley.

Program B ends, LR is set on, all that good stuff.

Control returns to service program A and firstName is still Brad.

We call Program B again, but before we do we verify firstName is Brad.

In Program B, firstName is still Bradley.
