Uh, no. RPG (ILE or OPM) is not even *remotely* like C, except in the
"/free" syntax mode (and even there, I'd judge it closer to Pascal,
Modula-2, PL/I, or one of the QBASICs). Then again, traditional RPG is
not even remotely like *any* other HLL.
*Java* is like "a cleaned up C." Or a cleaned up C++. Or a cleaned up
version of any of the lesser-known object-oriented C variants.
And not even assembler (or MI, on midrange systems) comes close to C's
tendency to give you enough rope to hang yourself, and then help you tie
the noose.
