Most (not all) NEPs will be reading from a dataque or picking up files
from the IFS or ... some similar controlled operation. So the simplest way
is to have a specific message (Dataque), of IFS filename, or ... and treat
that as a kill request.
There are probably other approaches but these are the most common.
