You can use RTVJOBA value ENDSTS to retrieve the cancellation status of a job. A value of 1 indicates that either the system, the subsystem in which the job is running, or the job itself is being canceled.

Betreff: How to properly Ending a background program
Hello,
I consider writing a program for running as Autostart-Job in a SBS. It is supposed to run in an endless loop, doing it's work and sleeping afterwards for a certain amount of time.
In Linux/Unix, you can send a kill-command to it's PID to make it end. Without parameters, a SIGTERM is generated and sent. Handling the signal in the program enables the programmer to delete temp files and other cleanups to happen.
How is that within the CL environment on OS/400, using RPGLE? I didn't find helpful information in the ILE Documentation: All explanations there handle either batch jobs (run and end by itself when done) or interactive jobs (being ended by the user triggering a RETURN in the code).
Thanks for any pointers to further documentation, or a short explanation.
