Your impression is correct - and the sample code is also correct.

There is only 1 member in the 7.3 samples that is fully-free - JSONTEST.

The rest have ONLY free-form code, but that doesn't make them fully-free by the new definition, where you CAN use the full width, all the way back to column 1.
