in this context, LO condition is one of the 3 positions as defined in
the fixed format - HILOEQ - LO means if A < B

Nothing to do with values other than those of the 2 variables relative
to each other.

Are you saying that after that line of code, both indicators 10 and 20 were off ('0')...?

And just for grins to identify the compiler - is this RPG36, RPG, RPGLE ? What OS Version?
And any special compiler overrides like FIXNBR or ALWNULL?

And "finding a LO condition" - how low... like a very low hex value (below x'40')?

That was the original assumption. The issue came up because we're finding a LO condition does not turn on *in10. So there is something else going on.
