Lets run with that idea for a moment, eh?  "conversion to a web interface"...  What might that look like?  Zero F-keys? Several layers of drill-downs, with various channels of related interests grouped together?   Intuitive to the user?  Low-to-none learning curve for the user?

We can do the same things with 5250.  Not graphically of course, but we can take that 24 F-key  jam-packed screen and break it down into a main driver screen and a series of intuitively created green screens, each one easy to understand and use, so any user can easily do the given task.

Add in the use of the enhanced features like check boxes, radio buttons, real scroll bars, human-scaled subfiles. drop-down boxes of valid values and you have a lively 5250 interface that is easy to use and allows today's mouse-savvy use to click through every work day.  Designing interfaces for the highly  trained keyboard user is spoooo 1980s; the world has moved on to two-thumb typing.

After giving your users a design overhaul for a few simple projects you will be asked for more by both users and bosses.

What options besides a Green Screen environment are available (if any)? Any chance of conversion to a web-interface?
