Syntactically (with an additional closing parenthesis) it is
valid. However, see my above response.

Actually, the compiler doesn't support based(%addr).


Sorry, I was confused. Where I've used it is as follows:

dcl-s l4iptr pointer inz(%addr(l4iary));
