this is a quick test program that fails when called by the exit with
RNQ0115 when it does the upper=sqlstuff

RNQ0115 is Length of varying length variable is out of range.


Based on your definitions, the first problem is that you're
trying
to stuff a 4-byte length varying field into a 2-byte length varying
field. At the least, you would need to use this:

Upper = %trim(%substr((SQLStuff:1:%len(Upper:*max))); // This will
truncate to 128 if needed.
