ACS is a completely different product to iAccess.

IBM did create a administrative function but I found it very difficult to
use and never got it started.

I did some checking back at the office and we had our folk who build the
PC's for the employees create a script for our location. I created a word
document showing the install prompts. The team used that to build the
install into the image they create for each location. This did save the
local FST's a bunch of time and when they prep a PC for a user, they simply
configure ACS connections to the production IBM I LPAR.

For users who need ODBC, they manually install the new java ODBC. If a user
needs something more than 5250, the FST reruns the install selecting
additional options.

In the end we are doing a manual install. I am looking for a cost

FWIK, iAccess already have such a tool. You can run it in a sort of
'configure way' so it will create a response file 'standard' and silently
use it in successive install.

It's beena whilke since i setup it for a customer with a similar need, but
it end up having 2 dir on the server (one for power user, one for 'normal'
user) and they autorized user to the diff dir so that the installation
script will install the desidered version based on the user auth.

Install will run smoothly without asking nothing.
