I tried to set up a common install process for our FSTs (field Service
Techs) but it is not that simple.

Here is what I experienced and conformed some if it with IBM.

1. Central administration - its not exactly the same as IAccess. The
disadvantage of the central/common installation is that everytime, ACS
starts, it takes time to download the app over the network.
2. We have multiple types of installs. Some just need 5250. Some need
5250 and printing. Some need 5250, printing and excel interfaces. Some need
more
.

In the end we are doing a manual install. I am looking for a cost effective
screen scraper that will allow us to create a script which we can run to
create the environment. At this point, each install is taking 5 to 15
minutes to complete each install.

With the advent of SOX, we can only give users access to what they need so a
full blown install is not permitted.

This is not ideal at all and is preventing us deploying to about 300 PC's.
