I was able to make Excel open a workbook with filters already applied, so
you should be able to to do what you are asking for using POI.

I just want to let you all know, that if you can do it in Excel, you can
probably do it in POI. If you can't do it in Excel, then there is nothing
you can do about it. POI just writes the spreadsheet in Excel format. So if
you can set up your filter in Excel, close the workbook, and reopen it, and
the filters are still there, then you can look at the XML and determine
what to add, and you can likely do that with POI. Maybe not at the higher
level XSSF classes, but definitely with the CT_ classes. Using the CT
classes, though, requires intimate knowledge of the EXCEL format.

Thanks Vern, that'd be great!

Hi John

At COMMON I give a couple presentations on using CGIDEV2 to create XLSX
spreadsheets, including the packaging.

There is also a lab, I have materials for setting it up on your system.

performance is good, creating the templates can take time, esp. when
someone wants things changed. Never happens, right? unless at Area 51!

I'll send it when I get to work.

Cheers
Vern
