This is no different then when IBM stared to arbitrarily delete stuff from their AlphaWorks web site ... then they deleted all of Alphaworks.    At least this time, they gave us a little advance notice.  :-o

Far worse, in my opinion, is how IBM has been deleting all of the IBM AS/400 and iSeries manuals and Redbooks from their web sites, such as the entire "infocenter" web sites that had all the manuals on-line for V3R2 up to V5R2, and more recently they purged V5R3 through V6R1 from the "Knowledge Center."  :-o

Similarly, IBM recently deleted all traces of IBM mainframe manuals that pre-date the most currently supported versions of z/OS, z/VM or z/VSE -- this includes a vast amount of material that was available on-line, similar to the "infocenter" for AS/400 and iSeries, ranging from MVS/ESA to DOS/VSE to VSE/ESA to VM/SP and VM/ESA ... and CICS, and IMS, and all the manuals for SQL/DS are now "gone" ... and on and on.

How is this in the best interest of IBM's shareholders, to devalue and disenfranchise large swaths of hitherto loyal long-time "legacy" IBM customers?
